    The short version

For uplift-assisted gravity riding in the UK, the big names are BikePark Wales, Antur Stiniog, Dyfi and Revolution in Wales; Forest of Dean, Wind Hill, Gawton and Descend in England; Nevis Range, Innerleithen, Glencoe and Ae Forest in Scotland; and Rostrevor in Northern Ireland. Uplift day tickets at the parks below cost from £35 to £56 (checked 2 Oct 2026), and most run uplifts only on certain days, so book ahead. Several switch to shorter winter schedules from October.

We've listed venues by nation rather than ranking them, because "best" depends on what you ride. Every fact below comes from the venue's or landowner's own website, checked on 1–2 October 2026. If you're unsure what the colours mean, read our UK trail grades guide first, because orange is a bike-park grade, not a step up from black.

    Wales

    BikePark Wales (Merthyr Tydfil)

The biggest trail count on this list. Its minibus uplift runs to the summit of Mynydd Gethin, and an uplift day pass costs £52pp (checked 2 Oct 2026). It's generally open Thursday to Monday, plus Tuesdays outside school term time, and closed on Wednesdays. The uplift runs 10:00–16:00 from March to October and 09:30–15:30 from November to February, with evening uplifts listed from 17:00 to 20:00. The homepage showed 62 trails open on 1 Oct 2026. Beginners are pointed to Kermit, a 5 km singletrack, while Pro Line trails have mandatory jumps and gaps. Full-face helmets are mandatory on some trails, including Drop Zone, Jumps Starter, Tech, Rippers & Pinners. Address: Gethin Woodland Centre, Abercanaid, Merthyr Tydfil CF48 1YZ. The park warns that sat navs often go wrong with the postcode alone.

    Antur Stiniog (Blaenau Ffestiniog)

A community-led, not-for-profit social enterprise founded in 2007 in the mountains of Eryri. It has 14 gravity trails and an uplift that it says gives "up to 20 runs per day". Its 2026 uplift prices are £42 on Thursdays and £44 Friday to Sunday, and Saracen Myst downhill bike hire starts at £75 a day (both checked 2 Oct 2026). There's a café (Burrito Blasus), a bike shop, a bike wash and showers on site. *Note: the site describes the trails as both "beginner blues to … blacks" and "green grade to black grade".*

    Dyfi Bike Park (Dyfi Forest)

Dan Atherton's 650-acre bike park in the Dyfi Forest, open since 2019. Trails run "from red to triple black diamond", with a "landy" uplift and a café. Its own diamond scale starts at single red, so this is a place for confident riders. Uplift day passes cost £50 on Thursday, £52 on Friday, £56 on Saturday and £54 on Sunday (checked 2 Oct 2026). Online waivers are compulsory, and under-16s need constant adult supervision.

    Revolution Bikepark — rebuilding

Change to note: Revolution's forest was felled because of tree disease in early 2023, and the park is being "fully refreshed and redeveloped". Uplifts are back, priced at £50 per rider per day (checked 2 Oct 2026). They run Friday to Sunday, 10am–4pm, and full-face helmets and knee pads are compulsory. The trail list changes as the rebuild goes on, and up-to-date maps are available on site.

    England

Forest of Dean Cycle Centre and FlyUp Downhill (Gloucestershire)

Forestry England's Forest of Dean Cycle Centre has 14 downhill trails alongside green, blue and red cross-country trails, a family trail, skills areas and a pump track. The official downhill map shows an uplift service. That uplift is run by FlyUp Downhill, which started there in May 2010. It runs from 10am with a lunch break from 12:30 to 13:20 and closes at 4pm (earlier in winter light). FlyUp doesn't publish uplift prices or running days online (checked 2 Oct 2026), so check its booking page for current dates and prices. There's a café, bike hire and a shop on site, though opening times vary. The sat nav postcode is GL16 7EH (B4234, Cannop Valley). FlyUp also runs the FlyUp 417 Bike Park.

    Wind Hill B1KEPARK (Warminster, Wiltshire)

A freeride-focused downhill park on the Longleat Estate, opened in April 2017. It has 10 individual trails, from the blue Blutopia flow trail to the Viagra Falls "Pro Line". It's open every day: 9.30am–4pm (or last light) from October to March and 9.30am–6pm from April to September. You need to register as a member, and pay-as-you-go riding is £15 a visit (checked 2 Oct 2026). The official page doesn't mention an uplift. Address: The Red Way, Warminster BA12 7NW.

    Gawton Gravity Hub

Gawton offers "over 500ft" of gravity-fed descent in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with nine tracks from flowy singletrack to steep technical descents and a bookable uplift. Riding runs from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week. You need a £10 day pass or £50 annual membership to ride the tracks (checked 2 Oct 2026). The uplift is booked separately, and its price isn't listed on the site. Note: the pump track is listed as closed, and the trail-centre hut is "under redevelopment".

Danny Hart's Descend Bike Park (Hamsterley)

Danny Hart's park has five main downhill tracks from the top to the midway point, which split into eight optional bottom sections, plus a 4X track. Park entry costs £15. The uplift costs £40 per person for the day including park entry (checked 2 Oct 2026). It runs from about 9.30am (sign-on from 9am) to 3pm and aims for 14 runs a day. Uplifts run weekly, must be booked online in advance, and need at least six riders. Full-face helmets are compulsory on all tracks. The park is on Windy Bank Road, Bishop Auckland DL13 3QN, and lists a 10 Year Anniversary Race on Sunday 18 October.

    Scotland

    Nevis Range (Fort William)

A 15-minute gondola takes you to three downhill trails: the World Cup Track (Orange), Top Chief (Black) and Blue Doon (Blue). Nevis Range calls Blue Doon one of the longest blue trails in the UK. An adult multi-trip uplift costs £39.85 online or £41.95 at the ticket office (checked 2 Oct 2026). Standard bike uplift hours are Thursday to Sunday, first gondola 09:30 and last 15:15, weather permitting. Winter change: for 2026 the bike uplift runs on Saturdays and Sundays only from 5 October, and the season is due to end on Sunday 18 October, depending on weather and track work. Address: Torlundy, Fort William PH33 6SQ.

    Innerleithen (Tweed Valley)

FLS lists four waymarked downhill tracks: Make or Brake, Matador, Gold Run and Cresta Run. All are graded double-black (extreme), and FLS strongly recommends a full-face helmet, gloves, body armour and a downhill bike. Adrenalin Uplift runs about every 15 minutes from 9am to 3.30pm. A day pass costs £46 and a Saturday–Sunday weekend pass £88 (checked 2 Oct 2026). It runs six days a week in summer, and Friday to Monday plus public holidays in winter; check the booking calendar for which schedule applies on your date. Note: the Innerleithen downhill and XC routes are currently shown as diverted. The Cadon Bank trail is closed and some XC sections are closed long term. Larch disease has reached the forest, so bring a clean bike.

    Glencoe Mountain Resort

Every trail here is chairlift-served: a red and a black downhill track, plus three plateau XC loops (Nae Danger blue, Epic Glades red and Loop De Dhubh black). The red was rebuilt with a new flow section in 2023. All its features are rollable or have ride-arounds, apart from the new gap jump. The chairlift opens at 9am, with the last bike-track uplift at 4pm, and the resort's report on 2 Oct 2026 showed bike tracks and hire open daily. A mountain-bike day ticket costs £35 for adults and £25 for juniors, and a single trip £18 (checked 2 Oct 2026). The summer season runs from mid-May until late October, weather permitting.

    Ae Forest (Dumfries & Galloway)

This 7stanes venue has the double-black Ae Downhill and The Shredder (red, per FLS). Adrenalin Uplift runs here on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, and a day pass costs £46 (checked 2 Oct 2026). Note: the Ae Bike Association says the on-site café has closed. Read our full Ae Forest MTB guide.

Alyth Bike Park (Perthshire): a community park, not an uplift venue

Alyth isn't an uplift or downhill park, but lots of riders search for it, so here are the facts. The Alyth Development Trust describes it as a network of trails and jumps on Alyth Hill, with sections for different abilities. In 2023 it was run by the Alyth Hill Users Group under a lease from Forestry and Land Scotland. Visit Cateran Country calls it a small, volunteer-maintained trail centre that's open all year and free to ride. Warning: the old alythbikepark.co.uk domain now redirects to an unrelated gambling site, so don't use it. See Alyth Bike Park.

    Northern Ireland

    Rostrevor (County Down)

On the shores of Carlingford Lough, Rostrevor has a 27 km red trail, a 19 km black trail and two purpose-built downhill trails. The trails are open 24 hours a day and free to ride. Bike Mourne runs what it calls the "official and only" Rostrevor uplift, with full-day tickets of 12 lifts. Lifts leave between 10:00 and 16:00, check-in is at the main Kilbroney car park at 09:45, and bookings close 48 hours ahead. The trailhead postcode is BT34 3AA. Bike Mourne doesn't list uplift prices or running days on its uplift page, so book or ask through Bike Mourne directly.
